{"id":5464,"date":"2010-06-17T07:04:46","date_gmt":"2010-06-17T11:04:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webcookingclasses.com\/?p=5464"},"modified":"2017-09-19T20:45:46","modified_gmt":"2017-09-19T20:45:46","slug":"the-secrets-of-a-parisian-spice-store-owner-good-food-is-simple-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webcookingclasses.com\/the-secrets-of-a-parisian-spice-store-owner-good-food-is-simple-food\/","title":{"rendered":"The Secrets of a Parisian Spice Store Owner: Good Food is Simple Food."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>It doesn&#8217;t taste like simple food.<\/strong> In fact, the <a href=\"https:\/\/webcookingclasses.com\/why-eating-healthy-food-is-easy-with-paris-cuisine\/cooking\/5462\/\">Paris cuisine<\/a> that I\u2019ve experienced since arriving in France, food that has tasted fresher and cleaner than I\u2019ve experienced, is raising more questions in my mind.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/embed\/kWUjwb3Tb2I\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>In an effort to find the answers to these questions,<\/strong> I\u2019ve returned to the Rue Cler market to visit with Pascal Mievre, owner of L\u2019 Epicerie Fine (http:\/\/EpicerieFineRiveGauche.com), a gourmet foods and exotic spice store on the Rive Gauche, the right bank of the <a href=\"https:\/\/webcookingclasses.com\/why-eating-healthy-food-is-easy-with-paris-cuisine\/cooking\/5462\/\">Paris cuisine<\/a> scene.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pascale is a multi-generational grocer.<\/strong> Grandfather worked for a roasting company and sold spices \u201cby the ton\u201d and his grandmother worked in a small grocery. Pascale has spent most of his life in food, first as a manager for a supermarket in France, food management that lasted for 20 years. He then created <a href=\"http:\/\/epiceriefinerivegauche.com\">his own shop<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>With all this experience and France food in his blood,<\/strong> Pascal has a very definite opinion about food.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust a few drops\u201d he says of his prized truffle oil, \u201cit\u2019s incredible\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I feel as though I\u2019m getting closer to the answers I\u2019ve been seeking<\/strong> during my <a href=\"https:\/\/webcookingclasses.com\/why-eating-healthy-food-is-easy-with-paris-cuisine\/cooking\/5462\/\">Paris cuisine<\/a> and ingredient search. \u201cGood food is <a href=\"https:\/\/webcookingclasses.com\/what-a-paris-cafe-can-teach-you-about-healthy-eating\/cooking\/5334\/\">simple food<\/a>\u201d is the answer that comes from Pascal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In my trip to France, food has been a surprise<\/strong> and I&#8217;m not finding what I expected. You don\u2019t need to add heavy ingredients, you don\u2019t need complicated cooking.
